Abstract
The Taos Pueblo Indian Tribe, in conjunction with a community coalition, will identify a culturally appropriate model to strengthen Pueblo’s families and to improve the quality of life for all Pueblo residents. The Taos Pueblo Indian tribe will target families with exceptional problems such as higher than the national average rates of alcohol and drug abuse (ATOD). Taos Pueblo Indian Tribe proposes to improve parenting skills in order to effect the following outcomes: Reduce ATOD prevalence among parents and students, improve life skills among students and parents and improve family bonding, and improve bonding to the community and community traditions. |
